Olearia albida (tanguru)
Olearia albida, commonly known as tanguru, is a fast growing shrub or small tree found in coastal forest and scrub in the North Island. It grows to 3-4m and has narrow oblong pale green leaves with wavy margins and white tomentum on the undersides. In summer and autumn panicles of white daisies are borne. Tanguru makes a useful shelter tree or hedging as it can be clipped to size. Prefers a sunny well drained situation.
