Phyllocladus trichomanoides commonly known as tanekaha, is a handsome tree with a symmetrical outline, straight tapering trunk, light grey and smooth bark, and branches in a series of whorls. The leaves resemble the fronds of the maidenhair fern. Slow growing enough for planting in suburban gardens.
