Weinmannia racemosa (kamahi)
Weinmannia racemosa, commonly known as kamahi, is a tree species that grows up to 25m tall with up to 1m diameter trunk. It thrives from Auckland to Stewart Island. It often begins as an epiphyte, growing on tree ferns. The leaves are khaki green approx. 7.5cm x 4cm. The flowers form in erect spike like clusters and are of a pinkish colouring.
