The Albany Highway upgrade is a 3.8km stretch of Albany highway, extending from Schnapper Road/Bush Road intersection in the south to the Albany Expressway in the north. The upgrade was to improve traffic flows, pedestrian safety and accessibility, and caters for more diverse modes of transport including bus, walking, cycling and heavy vehicles.
Kauri Park has worked closely with Recreational Services on the landscaping aspect of this project. A lot of the landscaping is in residential areas, requiring large numbers of amenity plants, at top grade quality.
Recreational Services chose to work with Kauri Park because the two companies have a long standing relationship, and KPN could be relied on to deliver the plants in good quality and on time.
The planting at Albany highway ran from April – October 2016. The plants photographed, have been in the ground between 3 – 6 months, they are already well established which is a good reflection on both the plant quality and implementation. Kauri Park are proud to have been the main supplier for the plants used on the Albany Highway, and have appreciated working with Recreational Services on this project.
