The NZTA Haywards Interchange project is a new interchange at the Western Hutt/ Haywards Hill roads (SH2/58 intersection) including the realignment of the Manor Park highway connection, McDougall Grove and Hebden Crescent, a park and ride car park and a pedestrian bridge to Manor Park Rail station.
The interchange aims to improve safety, traffic flows and access to Manor Park train station, as well as providing a dedicated bus stop and park and ride carpark. It will also provide improved access to Hebden Crescent and Belmont Regional Park, safer access to Manor Park Road, McDougall and Annabell Groves, and a safer and less severe alignment for motorists descending to State Highway 2 from State Highway 58.
The interchange was formally opened on Friday 4th August 2017, and traffic began using the new roads from the following weekend.
Planet & Eco-Leadership
Plant supply for this contract was awarded to Kauri Park in time for us to collect seeds and cuttings, and contract grow all the product required. With a large and professional supply capacity and flexible planting teams, Kauri Park were an ideal partner to work with on this project.
The plants supplied and installed on the Haywards Interchange project have established very well. All plants were grown in our north-Auckland nursery, they have acclimatized well to the Wellington region and are thriving in their new environment.
