Northern Busway was a demanding project that required an extensive palate of plant species. Kauri Park was awarded this project due to the confidence that the contractor had from previous infrastructure projects that it had worked with Kauri Park on. The contractor chose Kauri Park knowing it would deliver a quality product, would deliver species that were specified and would meet its logistical demands.
Planet & Eco-Leadership
Northern Busway was a project of national significance in that it was a pioneer in the use of landscaping on New Zealand Transit projects. Northern Busway had a mixture of natives and hybrids creating an expressive and new look to the motorway environment. There was use of coloured foliage, specimen trees and native bush to bring this collective look together.
The Northern Busway stations stretch from Albany in the North to Esmonde Rd in the South. Each station is unique with its own unique landscape architecture with links in between that are planted in a mixture of native bush species.
Northern Busway is a highly successful project which has provoked many positive comments by architects and consultants. It is another project that Kauri Park are proud to have supplied, with its testament to the speed and quality in which the plantings have become established.
